The McMichael Collection of Canadian Arts and the Village of Kleinburg
The McMichael is the world-known collection of more than 5,500 artworks showcasing the Group of Seven artists, their contemporaries, First Nations and Inuit artists. It is housed in the pioneer-style home named Tapawingo and the park - the former estate of the collectors - Robert and Signe McMichael, donated to the province of Ontario. The McMichael is located in the vicinity of Kleinburg, a special country place set high above the Humber River, where you will find that the atmosphere of early Canadian traditions and architecture still prevail. Founded by John Klein in 1848, this picturesque village is now home to many tourist attractions, beautifully restored buildings, boutiques and gift shops as well as several great places to eat.
