Day 1. Meeting in Denver and transfer to Southern Colorado. Overnight in Gunnison.

Day 2. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The San Juan Mountains and the former ghost town of Ouray. The Million Dollar Highway from Silverton to Ridgway. Bathing in the hot mineral springs of Ouray. Overnight in Montrose, CO.

Day 3. The resort town and ski destination of Telluride. Second half of the day in Mesa Verde National Archaeological Park — a monument of the Ancestral Puebloans (“Anasazi”). Views from the overlook of the famous Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House. Historic Durango. Overnight in Pagosa Springs, CO.

Day 4. Chama, New Mexico. Earthship Biotecture and the Rio Grande Gorge. The museum of Nikolai Fechin, the post-Revolution Russian émigré artist. UNESCO-nominated Taos Pueblo and the Old Plaza. Overnight in Los Alamos, NM.

Day 5. One of the oldest cities in the U.S., Santa Fe — the capital of New Mexico. The modern Capitol and the Governor’s Palace. The oldest mission church in the U.S., Mission San Miguel, and historic administrative buildings. Evening transfer to Roswell for overnight stay.

Day 6. Carlsbad Caverns National Park, home to one of the world’s finest limestone cave systems. A one-hour walk in McKittrick Canyon, part of Guadalupe Mountains National Park in Texas. Overnight in Las Cruces, NM.

Day 7. White Sands National Monument and Holloman Air Force Base. Museum of Space History in Alamogordo. The Mescalero Apache Reservation. New Mexican San Antonio and historic Socorro. Overnight in Albuquerque.

Day 8. The international Balloon Fiesta, where over 600 hot-air balloons take off within four hours. Trip to the top of Sandia Peak via the longest aerial tramway in the U.S. Old Town and modern Albuquerque. Overnight in Alamosa, Colorado.

Day 9. Great Sand Dunes National Park with the tallest dune field in North America. The Sangre de Cristo Range. Royal Gorge with one of the world’s highest suspension bridges. Cañon City. Overnight in Colorado Springs.

Day 10. Exploring Colorado Springs (downtown, Olympic Training Center). The scenic Garden of the Gods. Departure from Denver.


Tour cost: $1,850 USD (includes transportation by comfortable tourist-class bus, hotels, guided services, and entrance fees to listed attractions).

Single-room supplement: $750 USD.

Not included: airfare and meals.

Dates: September 27 – October 6.

Arrival in Denver on the first day before 13:00.

Departure from Denver after 15:00 on the last day (the bus will deliver the group to Denver International Airport no later than 13:30).
