Day 1. Meet at Dallas–Fort Worth Airport. A short tour of downtown Dallas. The Sixth Floor Museum dedicated to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the John F. Kennedy Memorial at Dealey Plaza. Pioneer Plaza. Overnight in Dallas, TX.

Day 2. The Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Museum of Art. The Amon Carter Museum and the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. The “Water Gardens” and the Stockyards, once the largest livestock wholesale market in the world. Overnight in Burleson, TX.

Day 3. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco. Texas state capital — Austin. The Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and the O. Henry House Museum. The Texas State Capitol, one of the largest in America. Overnight in San Antonio, TX.

Day 4. Old and new San Antonio. The historic Governor’s Palace and the Alamo. The San José Catholic Mission. A riverboat cruise along the San Antonio River. Evening at the tourist Riverwalk. Second night in San Antonio.

Day 5. Space Center Houston. Galveston Island, which experienced the impact of Hurricane Ike in September 2008. The historic districts of East End and the Strand. Gulf of Mexico beach. Overnight in Webster, TX.

Day 6. Central downtown Houston. The Fabergé exhibition and the Mineral Gallery at the Museum of Natural Science. The Menil Collection. The San Jacinto Monument, erected in honor of the decisive battle for Texas independence, located in the San Jacinto Historic Park. Transfer to Louisiana. Overnight in Lake Charles.

Day 7. Lafayette — the center of Cajun (French-speaking) culture in the U.S. The capital of Louisiana, Baton Rouge. The Old and New State Capitols, and the city park on the Mississippi River. The historic Oak Alley Plantation. Overnight in Vacherie, LA.

Day 8. Full day in New Orleans. A walk through the Garden District, one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the city. A Mississippi River cruise on the paddlewheel steamboat Natchez. Jackson Square, the Cabildo, and St. Louis Cathedral. A music festival in the French Quarter. Historic Bourbon Street. Overnight in Slidell, LA.

Day 9. Honey Island Swamp — a realm of marshes and alligators. Gulfport, Biloxi, and Pascagoula in Mississippi. Mobile, Alabama. Overnight in Greenville, AL.

Day 10. The capital of Alabama — Montgomery. The first Capitol of the Southern Confederacy and the Alabama State Capitol. Departure from Atlanta Airport (ATL).


Tour Price

$1770 USD (includes transportation — comfortable tourist-class bus, hotels, tour services, and entry tickets to listed attractions).

Single-room supplement: $700 USD.
Not included: airfare and meals.

Dates: April 9–18

Arrival at Dallas–Fort Worth Airport on the first day of the tour by 13:00.
Departure from Atlanta (Hartsfield–Jackson Airport) on the last day from 15:00 onward (the bus will bring the group to the airport no later than 13:30).
